I used the double very well this lesson as I completed alot of work and reached my goal of finishing my testing. I spent this lesson productively as I created a table to put my data in that I got from my experiment. Having this data, will help write my conclusion and state if my hypothesis was correct or incorrect. I also spent this lesson gathering the camera to film the food being tested. This took a little bit longer as I needed to refresh my memory on how to use a camera and how to focus, kindly Mrs Kelly gave me a quick tutorial to improve my footage. Having this skill, really helped my footage and made it that much clearer. This skill won’t just help me with my STEM project it will also help me with upcoming assignments and assignments in the future. After I got my camera, I started toasting the bread and got a teacher to slice the avocado for me. Getting a teacher to do cut the avocado is best for safety reasons because if I student or I did it un-supervised we could easily hurt ourselves. Then I went to put the sauces on the nachos and plate up the vegetables. After the food was prepared, the girls gathered into one of the sciences classroom (later moving to the photo coping room) and started testing the foods. From doing this experiment, it showed me that people with autism are more prone to sensory overloads with foods that have a texture variation. I say this because, when other girls were tested, they weren’t as affected by the sensation in their mouth as I was as they used to texture variations in their food and I am not. Doing this experiment has taught me more about what I have and what foods give me and people with autism a sensory overload more. Overall today, I completed my goal of finishing testing today. Now what I need to do for the holidays is to collate the film, summarise my results, create my conclusion and graph data.
